A 12-meter long canvas, originally a small landscape painting by Ukrainian artist Polina Makarova, now enlarged to the length of a 40-foot shipping container and mounted to it. The container is not only the frame for the painting, which depicts a Ukrainian landscape, but also the stage for the performance by Natali Penkina, a Ukrainian dance performance artist and choreographer.
In the background the real backdrop of the skyline of the seaside city.
Under the title "Proximity and Distance" these two landscapes meet and try to tell about each other in an exchange and to look into the future.
The setting is part of Skulpturenallee, a new project by Reinhold Zisser, who has already brought the Notgalerie to the Seestadt from 2017 to 2020.
The exhibition "Proximity and Distance" continues a series of actions, exhibitions, performance and residency projects with the aim to use the Ukraine crisis also as an opportunity to initiate together a new (art) community that can arise from solidarity, not only between artists, but from all who cherish the hope of a common, solidary Europe.
We hope to invite you to this dialogue and to spend a Sunday afternoon together.
Eine 12 Meter lange Leinwand, im Original eine kleine Landschaftsmalerei der ukrainischen Künstlerin Polina Makarova, nun auf die Länge eines 40 Fuß Schiffscontainers vergrößert und an ihn montiert. Der Container ist nicht nur Rahmen für das Bild, das eine Ukrainische Landschaft zeigt, sondern auch die Stage für die Performance von Natali Penkina, einer ukrainischen Tanz Performance Künstlerin und Choreographin.
Im Hintergrund die reale Kulisse der Skyline der Seestadt.
Unter dem Titel "Nähe und Distanz“ begegnen sich diese beiden Landschaften und versuchen in einem Austausch voneinander zu erzählen und in die Zukunft zu blicken.
Das Setting ist Teil der Skulpturenallee, einem neuen Projekt von Reinhold Zisser, der bereits 2017 bis 2020 die Notgalerie in die Seestadt gebracht hat.
Die Ausstellung "Nähe und Distanz" setzt eine Reihe von Aktionen, Ausstellungen, Performance und Residence Projekten fort, mit der Ziel die Ukraine Krise auch als Chance zu nützen um gemeinsam eine neue (Kunst)-Gemeinschaft zu initiieren, die aus der Solidarität, nicht nur zwischen Künstler*innen, sondern aus allen, die die Hoffnung an ein gemeinsames, solidarisches Europa hegen, entstehen kann.
Wir hoffen Sie zu diesem Dialog einladen zu dürfen und gemeinsam einen Sonntag Nachmittag zu verbringen.
